These are rubbish and I dont like them one bit!!!

JUST KIDDING!!!! Hahaaaaa!  ;)

These are superb!!! Try the brown colour scheme and see how it works.

It's hard to tell if the fire effects would work, I wouldn't use it on my figures but that's purely a personal preference. Give it a go and see how you feel, it should be easy to undo if you dont like it.
Don't!

I think the fire effect will probably work ok, it is not like a bullet from a rifle, so it would be ok to show the extraordinary effect of the unobtanium...

Anyway, there is holes in the rifles, so you can always make some rays which can be taken on and off...

Great imagination and execution!

My Venusian Prussians will be painted in tan and black.  It's a nice combo.

Whatever why you choose to paint them, certainly looking forward to see the final result.

beautiful
what's wrong with the leathery brown?
should be some colour that can take a lot of soot from the fire

Not thrilled about the idea of flames or rays coming out of the end of the gun.  But what if you glued a wisps of cotton fuzz to the business end of the gun as if smoke or steam was floating up after some hot fire?

I think this is how I want them to look:

(bases not done yet... )

As unobtainium is highly reactive all the parts in direct contact with it needs to be made from gold, which by some token of weirdness it does not react with.

He looks great! My first though was 'wow, he found someone who'd done the same colour scheme' then my brain kicked in :)

Very fast and impressive work. As for why gold doesn't react to unobtanium, it's probably the same reason Nemo's city was covered in it, it doesn't corode in the same way as most metals.
So many projects..... so little time.......

True. It's the king of metals.

Unless you pour a mix of HCl and HNO3 (3:1) over it  ;)
