A bit late to this convo, but I'm making a 15mm/28mm Early Western Han range right now, have done a lot of research, and also discussed with Duncan Head a bit (he may be one of the respondents here?).

Yes, I think if the figurines are very late Qin, they can also serve as early Western Han.  The one small difference is the way the hairknot was worn.

The hairknot had a ribbon going around the forhead, and the bun was in the back, not the top, and the ribbon tied around the knot.  See image below.

I actually had swordsmen made for the Han range even though there's no references to Han armies using "dare to die" detached or elite swordmen in separate bodies of troops.  I did it to permit gamers to use my range as late Qin.  I think there might be some additional cavalry options as well, but I need to check the various army lists.

They look like nice sculpts and I would be very interested if it wasn't for those tectonic plates (cost of import duty etc :) )

My knowledge is based on the WRG Greer book. I know nothing…

I was already assuming you'd just buy the Eureka.  :)

Was just showing the hair knot.  If you are an obsessive like I am, you might want to make a hair knot with milliput (very easy), make a very simple one part mould for it (again, it's very easy to do), snip off the top knot, and stick the new knot on the back.  You could add the forehead ribbon quite simply, even with a thin strip of paper glued on.

Or just fudge, no one will notice anyway. The Eureka are very tidy figs.

An example of the primary sources for Early Western Han.  This is a statue of an infantryman.

They are nice figures and not far off.  I have a large warring state collection.

While we on the topic does anyone know of transfers to use for the commanders chariot umbrella?  I recall their being some but can’t fin them

This is a period I've long wanted to get some wargaming figures for but have never found a big enough range I've liked. Talking warring states, really - thanks to Dynasty Warriors 2 as a kid haha. It really seems like the perfect sort of thing to use Midgard for.

Thanks all for the answers. i originally popped the question back in April and having held some of the Eureka (John Jenkin's Designs) Warring States miniatures in my hand i have decided to drop the project for now. The miniatures are good quality but as described by John (Khurasan Miniatures), they aren't spot on so I'm going to give the project a miss- or at least put it on hold for a good while.

Thanks for all who chirped in :)
