I swear it's not Campingaz!
« on: 01 May 2025, 06:48:30 AM »
Could not sleep last night, so grabbed a bit of scatter scenery I had primed blue from the Ready to Paint - box and just started without a real plan.

Was just sitting here while editing the pics and I suddenly realised I had unconsciously painted a giant Campinggaz can....oh well.

15/28mm scatter for Sci-Fi. A old H0 Silo top, 50mm Base, and 5 parts from the 1/35 HEMMT truck, the gift that keeps on giving.

Reference model is 28mm, no 15mm volunteers found.

Looks good - how do you get the texture?

And yes it also looks like it could be used to prepare a meal while camping ;)

Looks very nice. I also like the test figure by the way.

Thx! I really need to finish it (basing and 1 shoulderpad left, it's been like this for a good 2-3 years now. Something to do with removing my thumb from my posterior etc).

Rattlecan Macragge Blue, sponge on a Blue and increments of Ivory, repeat. Ripping the paint apart each time give a nice rough (looking) surface. Really easy and great use for all that foam you (used to) get in blisterpacks.

That foam is still available in the better kind of blisterpacks!  lol And very useful stuff it is too - I also use it to wipe the superglue nozzles to stop the tube from sticking together.

Thanks a really effective yet simple technique. I have a stash of blister foam for future use. So will try and remember this technique!

 Very nice.  lol

This shape could be very useful to make Mongol yurts - not easy to scratch-built with toilet paper and glue without a proper shape underneath.  :D

And by plugging in your rocket micro-stove, just use the piezo igniter to create a cool new battle edfect - real flame! 🔥
