Petrovskoe Dec 1941 6mm game
« on: 03 May 2025, 04:52:40 PM »
Just played a small winter East Front game using I Ain't Been Shot Mum rules with lend lease and light tanks This scenario is based upon the Dec 2, 1941 Soviet counterattack on the leading edge of the German drive towards Moscow. The German 258 Inf Div had punched through the Russian 222 Rifle Div and was only 27 miles west of the capital.. At this point, with the weather down to -30C, the Russians launched an attack at the point of the German spear, Meanwhile tanks of the 136th and 140th Tk Bttns came in from the Southeast to cut off the Germans. This is the basis of this game.

Miuther, looks excellent, very atmospheric. I hadn't played IABSM for many years, but played a 15mm game set during the start of Barbarossa at my local Lard event back in March. Great fun and I've decided to dust them off.  I have a lot of 1/200 stuff that hasn't seen the table-top for many years so seeing your 6mm game I might have inspired me to use that scale for IABSM.

Thanks for the post.

The scale is shown to its best advantage, there is always room to manoeuvre - and great terrain!

Utgaard, what size table do you use and with what size forces.  I have 1939-40 French and Germans, plus 1944 British and German albeit I have considered buying 1941 or 1944 Russkies to figth the Germans I have. I see IABSM can still be purchased as a PDF complete with supporting campaign books.

This looks like an actual battlefield. Very inspiring. I've been interested in 6mm for a while now, but already got WW2 in 15mm and 20mm. So, a third scale?
