Marignano 1515 game - updated 25th Dec
« on: December 05, 2014, 02:32:03 PM »
Hi guys I've just set up a Marignano 1515 game. It will, given the difference in numbers and terrain, be difficult to get right. On Wednesday night we will start to fight it out and try out one or two scenario ideas. I'll let you know how it goes. Until then, here is the sep up and a few notes on my thoughts.

The Swiss

The French

Hope you like. When it's sorted I'll make it available as a full scenario article.

Thanks guys.

The buildings are mainly Warbases building blank packs. The church is MDF scratch with Warbases 'bits and pieces' details. Tiles are HO plastic sheets by Wills' Building Materials. Warbases do a very useful windows, shutters and doors range at 'cheap as chips' prices. There are a few shots of them in progress somewhere under this label on my blog:

We use a home brewed Piquet / Field of Battle set of rules called "Hell Broke Loose". They are available, for free if you want a copy, by sending me an email. My contact details can be found in the side bar of my blog. They were written for large battle pre-musket Italian Wars - they are not generic renaissance set.

Best Regards

James

That set up is absolutely marvellous. The size of the pike blocks and the great painting of the models.  A truly inspiring board.
