Refurbished 1970s Minifigs.
« on: 22 May 2025, 04:41:15 AM »
These guys been living in a box for over forty years jumbled and shunted around from pillar to post. Just re-basing and paint touch up over existing enamel. Done by my farm-hand.

Wow, that’s a massive improvement! The paint touch-ups (paint overs?) help, but I think it’s the basing that really gives them a lift.

Nice work, they look great. It's good that those old warriors live to fight new battles. :)

That really looks splendid…and knowing about the age and previous state of the models I am really impressed. A nice treat for these oldtimers.

There is another battalion almost done. I am buying some more Minifigs command (Grenadiers and Line) so we can round out a few other regiments with the figures we have. We are repurposing some War of 1812 US Militia as some type of Austrian militia and I am going to get a unit of Grenze from Perry. Should be an attractive little army when we are done.

Among my favourite troops in my minifigs Napoleonic armies are the Wuttumburgers, love this little guys and still have my original 3 battalions from 1977, plus two Cavalry regiments and a foot battery. Have another 4 line battalions plus light infantry and jaegers in my mountain of shame :? I'll get them done one day. Love the standard  :)

Awesome. Love Wurtumbergers. The standard is a GMB flag.

I found out on the other site that the advancing soldiers are in fact 1960s 20mm Minifigs (the command are 25mm Minifigs). And this was backed up by links to similar Austrian figures. So these dudes are almost as old as I am. And they may not actually be home cast copies.
