It came out nice but looks like it took a lot of patience to build! How long did it take?

Thanks, if I remember correctly it only took two or three weeks to get it done.

Here's one the buildings I referenced earlier with some figures for scale. The doors say bank to me.

Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual

That does look rather bankish.

I would suggest seeing if you could find any of the Dust buildings.  I've used them a few times - don't have any pictures handy, sadly.

I would also 2nd the Plasticville.  Finally, you could also go with more O scale with Ameritowne.  They are brick facades, but you can buy the sides, too.  The brick is a bit small for 28mm, but they look good.  I used several of their buildings in superhero games with the kids using Heroclix and they looked good.

is that second pic the Ameritown stuff? I love the modular nature of it... could be very useful that...

The 1st is Ameritowne.  Each side of a building is sold separately, so you can choose how to assemble, or if you just want to use foamboard or the like for the sides/back.

The 2nd picture is the Dust tenement terrain.  I've attached a shot of the back of the box, to give you ideas as to how modular they are, generally.  Think Eilif did a bunch with the Dust Terrain to make cyberpunk style buildings on here somewhere.
