Flatcaps and trunctions
« on: Today at 11:53:16 AM »
Hello all. A few pix of my set up so far. Working on getting a campaign/connected games running in the vein of the Peeky blinders genre all aided and abetted by the dead man's hand system reissued as Flatcaps and trunctions system..So far built a canal system..can't have Brum without canals..can't have canals without canal folk ? Anyways loads more minis cars/vans (care of models of yesteryear) looking at knocking up a livery/canal yard for my next project to add..looking forward to the play testing..anyways..thought I'd share..comments suggestions or hints on game play welcome..cheers..

Very nice. As a descendant of the chaps in caps I fully approve :D I no longer sound like a Brummie but I’m still very proud to come from Brum (it’s a really nice city with great people). Looking forwards to seeing what you do with this (your setup already looks amazing) as I don’t know anything about GEG’s Dead Man’s Hand system but I’ve looked longingly at that set a few times.

Well thanks for the reply and praise. Yes mate have plans a foot. May also Segway into a broader theatre with civil unrest etc..As historically the era and theatre was so ripe with it...As I side note..even brought meself the appropriate head wear 😁👍 and a few more knocking about besides for public/club gaming needs others to play the part 🤷🤣🤣🤣

Your miniatures look good and I really like your gaming table setup! I love the Flatcaps & Truncheons set too, I enjoyed painting all the minis in it. I wish they made more police to balance all the Peaky Blinders boxes they make.

Good start but you need to also get some hair clippers and insist on old school military cuts to compliment them!

I fully agree, there’s lots to do in this period and (IMO) it sits in the perfect tech level/period (of up to about WW2) that suits tabletop gaming so well. Now I’m getting more tempted… off to look at the range…

Already wayyy ahead of you lol..got the tight up sides an back already lol...great escapee did release some more bobbies for reinforcements lately ..and there is a fair few in the range now..also there's plenty else out there ? I plan when I expand my collection To drought some flat cap regular troops in as specials ? (Shades of black an tans) And sloppy jallopy canal folk (as pictured) do as quite good. Gypsy folk as well as opposition to the peekys ..also plans for a few American gangster types as enemy folks ..so yeah..theres more than enough to be getting. On with ? 🤷😁

Well that's the point there's so many directions can go with the period ? Dare I say pulp/steampunk just about fits in the era 🤷 so..trying to keep the megalomaniac in me under control lol..

I could tell you were a chap of outstanding taste and style ;) To most you look like a thug/hipster wannabe :D (don’t know which is worse!), to little old ladies you look like adults they knew and loved in their childhood (which brings only compliments and cake in my experience).
