Pulp Heroines, loosely based on Mortal Engines.

I've started a new painting project inspired by the books I am currently reading with my son, Philip Reeves 'Mortal Engines' series, which is full of airships, steam powered cities, sword wielding villains and ancient technology. Lots of chases, rope swinging and well written pulp goodness.

Here are my first two.

Either you love beige tones or you simply mastered painting them to perfection. The latter of course, the first probably... I noticed a dominance of that colour on the figures yo´ve shown yet. Very, very good. I like them all!

I didn't realise there were so many fans of the books. Nice to see. Wonderful source for Pulp gaming ideas 

Working on the next model, using a slightly converted 'Evil Empire' Necron Flayed One as Shrike the Resurrected Man. I've found a good Pennyroyal in the Artizan Pulp line, but a decent 'Tom' eludes me. I foreseee a whole batch of Sky Pirates hitting my painting table soon too!

Slightly off topic, and if a thread hijack is likely I'll ship out to another thread, but I've recently been reading the first set of Danger Girl comics and was wondering if there were miniatures in that sort of style, slightly more modern than the typical 30s pulp (except the baddies who are invariably nazi esq pulp bad guys ), but with a destinct pulp/bondgirl/actionhero type style going on.

Hasslefree Miniatures have a couple along those lines, like their not-Lara Croft, but I've not really seen many other fantasy/30s/modern pulp heroines.
