Now you have me sitting here, looking for naval camo patterns instead of mowing the lawn. Tells a lot about my attitude towards gardening, I guess.

Lawns are filthy and unnatural. If dandelions and crabgrass weren't the Will of God, they wouldn't grow with such Teutonic Efficiency.

Also, ivy. I recommend ivy.

I spent a whole afternoon with this green dirt and kept on having visions of bulldozers and cement mixers. If it wasn't for the child, I'd have the garden levelled and tarred. Or to quote a good friend of mine when I asked him if we wanted to sit outside: "Now, let's not start with this suspicious hippie stuff."

Sorry to have derailed the thread about your superb October Revolution tank, Chris, I did not mean to. No, really.

Super work!  I finally managed to find a bottle of "Erdal Bodenglänzer" the German equivalent of Future's floor polish, so I'll have to start work on my Pardulon tank too!

No offense! I know the "joys" of gardening from my parents´ big backyard, which awaits serious reconstruction this year - voles have undermined the lawn, and the stairs leading down from the conservatory to the pasture have dropped by some four inches... and cutting back the bushes, mowing the lawn etc. is quite the bitch, IMHO. For once, I´m happy to live in a flat next to a green "promenade", so I won´t have to keep the green myself.

Sometimes, you just want to drive some tanks through it, don´t you?

Very nice job, Chris, and the new barrels do look better.

Zaffarelli, the grey scheme makes it even more imperative that You read Moorcock's 'Nomad of the Time Streams'.

...now I'm off to work and, right after that, I have to mow the #+&%$%& lawn! :x  :x

Lawn conspiracies everywhere!

Anyway, back2topic!

Over the weekend, I painted up two "German Mercenaries" by Copplestone Castings (or rather, re-painted them, since I had bought them years ago for my WW1 collection). They do look better now, although the varnish makes them look rather thick and featureless on the pic, though...

The small inset shows the miniatures at original size (at 1024x768 pixels screen resolution).

Well, I see them, so I certainly hope the pic is back up?

Yup, and the other parcel arrived today, too. I´ve already started work on three of the sailors, and they don´t look too wrong, IMHO. Oh, and the cavalry is almost done. :D

Of course, we all have expected that. I assume, all the 34 figs from the second parcel will be finished until next week

ROFLMAO!     Stachanow´s Brush strikes again!

Sadly enough, I´m totally oppressed by counterrevolutionary Bretonnian Knights and worker-devouring Tyranids, and since the lion´s (or would that be bear´s?) share of the sailors is still in the blister pack, I´ll first try the scheme on two of the sailors and get your feedback, guys.

Man, I am so going to have to get some Reds sometime soon. I've got Turks, I've got Asien Korps, I've got gangsters. A few Reds would let me do Silk Road stuff like the nuts.

Great job Chris. Did you and the Prof. have some sort of swap? Suddenly he has all this stuff from you, and now you've got his stuff.

Prof., if you're into trades, I can trade you some Genuine American Humor for some Teutonic Efficiency.  :)

Do it, Pete... do it... you know you want to... succumb to the lure!

Yup, I swapped him the resin houses and Putilov for the Bolshevik Minis, and got a load of more minis for something which I shall not reveal at this time but will surely prove popular if it works out O.K. ...
