Prof., if you're into trades, I can trade you some Genuine American Humor for some Teutonic Efficiency.  :)

Sorry, Pete, I prefer to stay efficient

Yup, I swapped him the resin houses and Putilov for the Bolshevik Minis, and got a load of more minis for something which I shall not reveal at this time but will surely prove popular if it works out O.K. ...

Ooooh. A mystery!  :o

Well, if anyone wants to trade some efficiency for humor (or lies and deceit, I have a lot of that, too), I'll be here. Painting inefficiently.

We discussed this yesterday, NO ONE should take Pete up on his offer for lies. He's as inefficient at that as he is at painting. It's also why contract negotiations with him are so easy.

Just noticed that I hadn´t yet uploaded the pics of my 1:50th Nieuport Bébé, a Smęr model kit which I bought back in 2004 for the steal price of 2,50€. It´s a rather simple kit, with rather thick parts, but for the wargamer, this is actually a boon (IMHO), since it makes the model far more stable than is the case with more modern model kits.

The decals came with the kit. I cannot comment on the historical authenticity of the LePrieur antiballoon rockets for Soviet Bébés, but they looked too cool to leave them off - and the instructions insisted on using them, so who cares. It´s Pulp BoB, after all.

SMER rule. Sturdy and robust, and easy to build for chaps with little modelling skill like me. And Ł3.99 a plane for 1/48. You'd be crazy not to buy them.

I spit on those fancy-ass, fiddly, fragile Eduard Ł25 monstrosities!

(Just got two SMER Albatrosses in the post this morning.)

I have an Edouard IL-2 and that sucker is made of styrene thinner than the dreams of children. I'm going to have to look for some Smer kits, but with my luck they won't be in stock, or they'll be just as expensive as Hasegawa.

Great model, Chris! And the rockets on the wings are gravy.

Revolutionary Sailors

Ahoy! Let me present a revolutionary Sailor committee landing party from the light cruiser "Aurora".

Actually, British Sailors from Copplestone, a bit russified by adding cap bands and painting in the most fitting Russian Sailor Scheme I could find. The Lewis gun is a conversion, too (plastic tube et al), and I may add some bayonets later.
