Might be being thick here but did you mean the bolt throwers?

No it was a mishit, I meant boxes: but he's got the lot: archers, armoured orcs, lead bletcher and so on...

I have the set of bugmans you are talking about, that was 90s. Previous to that there was another set, same time as all of your orcs... Much older, much rarer.

They must be the preslotta ones I presume - v. nice too! Talking of 90s stuff - I do have a few orcs from round then and am debating whether or not to sully the purity of my 80s warband with some of my faves from that era ;D!

have decided to raid my brother's collection of vintage GW orcs - he's got the lot: archers, armoured orcs, lead bletcher and so on...

I know those old box sets are very heavy so if you need a bit of muscle for the job...  ;)

Saw a lead belcher with the original box go for over £30 on ebay  :'(

Yeah but for the quality of the lmodel and the age (and compared with current GW) prices I'd say that's not too bad!

Nor me - just haven't got £30 spare at the moment!  :-[

Talking of Machineries of Destruction (what a cool name!) also really loved the goblobber even though it did have the stunties getting one over the gobbos!

I have the 90s version of the orc rocklobber but it just doesn't have the character of the earlier stuff like Manmangler...

Boy, that's some beautiful painting and basework!

I'm not into fantasy, but I had to comment.  VERY nice.  I love that lsnake head sheild logo!  It looks authentic, if that's the right word?

The ogre is bloomin excellent!

The other two are brilliant too, the freehand is very good! I think closeups can really ruin the look of freehand!

Thanks fellas

I'd be more than happy with that! My argument for the shields looking crude, should I need it,  would be that a cack-handed orc was supposed to have done it!  ;)

The camera is a harsh mistress! Got a few ideas for improving the next batch though...

Also keep seeing Notlob's bunch on ebay going for anything between £5 and £30! Wouldn't mind acquiring them to go with my growing Harboth's Unit - nice bit of fluff that links the two regiments of renown -

Quote
"Oy, boss"
"Wot"
"Bin ter see Notlob, like you said,"
"Yer............?"
"An’ I sez you sez if ‘e don’t find some stunties we eat ‘is boys,"
"Yer?"
"So ‘e sez ‘e’s goin’ ‘untin’ stunty,"
"Do wot?"
"E’s packin’ ‘is spearchuckers, an’ movin’ out. Goin’ ter ‘unt some stunties, ‘e sez,"
"WOT!"
"E’s packin’..."
"SHADDAP!"
"But I woz only...OW!"
"Get packin’..."
"Wot?"
"You ‘eard, Finks ‘e can leave ud behind, duz ‘e? We’ll show ‘im!"

...And so it was that Harboth’s Black Mountain Boys moved out of the Black Fire Pass to terrorise the lands beyond. The uneasy partnership between the Black Mountain Boys and Notlob’s bolt-thrower crews was dissolved, over a trivial misunderstanding due to the limited nature of the Orcish language. The Orcish Word for moving out can also mean deserting, running away or soiling one’s underwear...

Mind you having reread that if I've got Harboth's lot I don't need Notlob!!

I got it from the regiments of renown, Harboth's orc archers section on Solegends -

http://www.solegends.com/citrr/rrd03harboths.htm

It would have been on the back of the box the unit came in way back when these fellas were on sale - I think all the old 80s box sets came with a little story on the back of the box to give you a some background info - back in the days when GW had a sense of humour!!

Mind if I ask what colours you used for the ogre's skin? I quite like it and I've never been happy with my Flintloque Ogres.
