Tim, those figures look very nice, however....
.... not wanting to be critical here, but have you considered trying to use the natural light coming from behind or slightly to one side of the camera? The figures would look even better and all the detail would be clearer. Also, think of using a plain white or sky blue etc background to enhance the clarity. Setting the figures in front of the building is a good idea, but try and put them on a bit of sandy coloured terrain or piece of cloth and this combined with the right lighting source would turn that into a great pic.
The Presidiales and Texians are far more important than the mug and I bet they will look fantastic with better lighting

Not trying to be critical, I just love seeing well painted pics in a well-lit pic
