Harry Potter figures?
« on: 17 January 2010, 01:36:15 AM »
Does anyone know of a company that has "not" Harry Potter figures in 25-28mm? I am looking for some for a few board games (HP Clue being one of them)

Would like at least the main cast, if not some of the villains.

Any help on this would be appreciated
Looking for a set of rules that adaptable for different genres.

I believe that Hasslefree Miniatures has a boy wizard in their white metal range.

There was a single "not-Harry" boy wizard in the Copplestone Castings Wizard pack, but I think that pack has been discontinued...

There was a game released about the time of the movie The Prisoner of Azcaban or something like that. It had a tower that is quite usable with 28mm figures. It also has some plastic figures in about the right scale including Harry. I have one at home. I'll take some pictures when I get a chance.

From Soapy's blog

I don't think they are in production yet.

There were some done 'inhouse' at GW that came up on Ebay a little while ago for a Quidditch team. There were even rules and a laminated board, they weren't ever supposed to get out though and GW shut the auctions down. They weren't especially good sculpts as they were test ones but the rules etc looked good. I know a guy who got a load and then didn't want them anymore as GW contacted everyone who'd bid etc demanding the figures if they'd bought them....

Had a great line in the email that essentially said "GW has never produced, nor considered producing Harry Potter figures. These figures should never have entered the public realm so give them back to us." He replied saying if they'd never made them then they couldn't possibly be their models :D

He bought them as he intended to paint up the teams properly and sell them again but doesn't want to now as he doesn't want to list them on ebay and have GW on his back.

I could always ask if he wants to sell them?
So many projects..... so little time.......

I was hoping more for them in their "normal" attire. School robes and such.

I'm sure Hasslefree were/are going to release one of their younger adventuresses (Alyx?) with a spellbook & wand at some point...

Thank you again guys. I appreciate the input.

I am fairly new to non plastic, pre-painted minis. I don't know all the sites, and some of them, I've found to be hard to find anything on.

This community is awesome.

Here is Alyx from Hasslefree.  As somebody mentioned she was due to be released with new arm options.  It is a wand and a spell book.  The book is where the bear is and the wand is where the gun is.  They were going to release this after they had sold out of the originals.  I'm not sure if this has happend yet.  I just got a new Alex around Christmas and it had only the original options.  You could contact them to find out if it is available yet or maybe a special order.

There are currently only pre-release master castings available of the newer version of Alyx with the new arm options.

It still can't hurt to ask Hasslefree if they would sell you one.  I don't think they were waiting for the master to sellout before they started with the regular ones.  They were waiting to sell out of the old stock of Alyx before selling the new arm options.

You may want to take a look at Micro Art Studio's Discworld miniatures.
