I'll try some dried skin/flesh, but this is something else and I have yet no idea how to do it...

Try gluing plain tissue paper to the bones, then paint with watered down PVA, when dry paint and drybrush over the top of it.  That'll help in blend in while increasing the rigidity, it will highlight the protruding bones and if it tears a little so what, it's skin.

I've recently been able to go one better, I have a water dragon like this:

She sheds regularly, so I'm going to use some of her shed skin for the next one I do, give it a good reptilian finish! :D

Now water can flow....or water can crash...be water my friend.

Anyway, there aren't any dragons in Devon.

Cornwall, yes; Somerset, yes; Wales, yes. But not Devon. Not since the 6th century, I believe.

thought I'd relay it here

Aldi sells some dinosaur sets for 2,99€
here a compiled size comparison
there is also a diplodochus

mama + chick in one set

the other animaly are too big

I think the painting is quite nice too
it is hard rubber and the figures are perfectly balanced without base

These are nice models. I picked up the stegasaurus a couple months ago with the idea of turning it into a piece of terrain. As yet, my daughter hasn't let me chop it up.   lol

Where in the states did you find these?

'fraid not. But to be honest, with the nature of many people who live IN Coventry, the surplus of pound-stores doesn't surprise me.

Before you say anything, I don't live IN Coventry. I live in the less pond-life like area.  :D
