Napoleonic Orcs for futuristic-sfx wargames
« on: 24 January 2010, 05:43:13 PM »
Hi,
We have made a special section in our Naran's site,  dedicated to the futuristic sci-sfx Napoleon's Orc army.
The idea was born from the fact that we had read that the English had nicknamed "Ogre" Napoleon.
So we had thought it might be fun to create an army of Orcs for Warhammer 40K inspired by the Napoleonic army. It 'could realize this idea following the discovery of Historex components in 1/32 scale, for precisely miniture representatives of the soldiers of the Napoleonic French army. We ordered a first blister via Micromondi ( a Turin shop) and we were able to verify that the hats, helmets and busts of Historex suited perfectly to the head, arms and legs of the Orcs of the GW WH40K series.
My dark son Sandro has already deployed this extraordinary army in some WH40K game tournaments.
We plan to also make a similar army list for our sfx wargame Naran Future Wars.
You can see the section dedicated to the Napoleonc Orcs clicking on the button that we have put in the home page of our website:

where the direct link is:
http://www.naran.it/OrchiNapoleonici/index.htm

We have already added the image of the first battles played:
http://www.naran.it/OrchiNapoleonici/Battaglie/Warhammer40000.htm

Here are some of the images relating to the various units:

Orc Napoleon, escorted by the Lancers of the Guard

Guard Lancers

Empress Dragoons

Grenadiers of the Guards

Cuirassiers

Hussars

Line Infantry

 Sansculottes

Great Battery

Good sight and good fun!
Bye,
Sergio

Those are excellent!

Just what the world needs, more fantasy napoleonics!

I particularily like the line infantry and the cuirassiers.  lol

So who's gonna be British? ;D

They are the Praetorian Guard (Imperial Guard): I hope GW will reissue them (plastic kits too) soon.

"Napoleonic Orcs for futuristic-sfx wargames "   :o lol :-*

This has to be the most bizarre concept for an army I've ever seen - yet it works fantastically well.

Top marks for imagination!

But we cannot use them, because to participate to WH40K tournaments, the miniatures must be, at least in part, GW original.
At least here in Italy there is this rule.
Bye,
Sergio
