Small Victorian Police Station - 28mm
« on: 14 February 2010, 05:18:10 PM »
As part of a VSF game I'm cooking up I need a small police station so have been building my own. Thought I'd share my efforts so far and see what you think. It's not finished but when it is I'll post it on the workbench board.

Like that very, very much.  Stylisticly it reminds me of the victorian police station where I lived as a kid - I'm not that old but the police station was.

Thanks chaps.

It reminds me of a toll keeper's cottage. Or a canal lock keeper's cottage which now sell for a fortune. A really charming little model. I like it a lot!

You're not far off , it's based on a station waiting room but I thought it would do as a small nick.

Its absolutely ace. Why you get me to build things for you is beyond me.

Because you're better at it than I am. Oooh, thanks for the chimney.  :)

That's really nice. What's left to finish?

This is really great work. I´d like to have a building like that too. Thanks to urge me to make another project I feel being in need of...
That´s a fabulous building for a lot of scenarios I can imagine. How about a Victorian version of John Carpenter´s "The End"?

Very nice building TC. Had you considered staining the lamp glass blue?

Thanks for the kind comments chaps.

twrchtrwyth, I've still got work to do on the base, roof and guttering and then cant decide if I want to put some railings around it. Might be too much for such a small building.

Jimbib, agree with the door comment, I'll cut a bit deeper.

Bullshott, I thought about painting the lamp blue but I'm looking into whether or not the Victorians did that.

Capt B, not far off it! I'm going to build a good old Victorian pub next and then a row of terraced houses or workers cottages or both! Add that to the builds Svennn has put together for me and I should have enough for the game. It's going to be a Victorian version of Geezers (with a subtle VSF influence) and I'm hoping there may be room for it at the next BLAM.

Traveller, I'll finish it off in the week and post a tutorial on the Workbench. If I can build it you can!!   ;)

Thanks again for the kind comments. Gives me the confidence to build more.  :)
