ACW Kepi Heads with gas mask
« on: 10 March 2010, 10:10:26 PM »
Overlord's Automata LPL entry had me looking on the Westwind site for heads sprues and I noticed they sell ACW Kepi heads with gasmasks. There's no pics on the site but I've ordered a set and if anyone is interested I'll post pics when I receive them.

Edit: Here's the link to the site:

I think I can save people for the wait, after I googled it I came across this page: Link

It had some of the new gasmask heads as preview, including Kepi and Pickelhaube heads:

Nice find Jonas. I ordered some of those Pickelhaube heads blind too, looks like I did good!

By the way, did that layer of snow make your beard much heavier? ;)

Hmm, the kepi heads look a little sloppy. I'll have to steal a look at TC's in the flesh to get a proper idea. Why have they made them though? It's a little odd for a WWW2 range.

The same blog has another post about the size of the heads, he says the kepi heads are too small, but it is on GW Imperial Guard models:

And my beard did not get heavy from the snow, but it looked funny  ;D

Well spotted TC.

The kepi heads could be very useful for both my US and French VSF forces.

They look ace!

Might have to get the pickelhaub ones...

In fact, I'll definately have to. Perhaps some crazed Prussian gene-splicing experiments could wear them!

Actually this shot shows the heads side by side

The Kepi head does look rather small. It actually looks quite narrow, I'm wondering if it was squashed in the molding process. That would explain why the eyes are oddly angled etc.

Agree - it does look rather squashed.

TC - Let us know when your heads turn up and what you think of them. If they are any good I could use some for my Americans on Atlantis  ;)

I got some of the Prussian ones at Salute, they are very, very good! I'm intending on using them soon, not sure how. Might put them onto some Renegade miniatures... :D

I just got my hands on some of the Prussian heads too, they are really nice sculpted and the size is equal to those of Empress, Old Glory and Foundry (probably many more too, but this is what I had to compare with).
