Prussians Attack City of Hythoria
« on: 22 March 2010, 06:14:45 AM »
The Prussian Iron Fist had fianlly pushed to the outskirts of the city of Hythoria and attacked in an early morning assault against an entrenched Brithish / Atlanantean force, bolstered by seveal Milita sword units.

The Battlefield:

Top edge shows the city outskirts, and trench lines maned by British Regulars and Temple Guards. Bottom edge shows the prussain jump off positions. Black Cavalier and RRsize discuss options for the up coming battle.

Tons more pictures at :  http://armoredink.blogspot.com/2010/03/prussian-assault-on-hythoria.html   with full battle report.

Two things tipped the battle, the British light tanks took an eternal pounding and still managed to get off an occasional shot keeping the Prussian tanks from pounding the infantry trenches to mud. And the sudden loss of luck on hitting anything of note for an entire round but taking substancal pounding in return that broke the right flank advance on the city. A heavy counter attack by the Atlanteans agains the Prussian left helped bring the battle to a close.

What a great looking battlefield! I love the fields of crops, and the little clumps of bushes and trees. And that Atlantean architecture looks marvellous. Nice one all round!

Have to agree with Red Orc, I really like the buildings. :)

I also really like the table setup and the report was pretty good also :D

Excellent report and looks like you had a good game.

Are the buildings scratch built or commercial ones? Bullshot and I are looking to sort out some atlantean buildings for our campaign battles so it would be good to get something similar.

Another vote for the great buildings - having the walls inwards instantly transports them away from 'another adobe' to something interesting and alien Top work!

Nice battle report and a great looking table.

I'm sure that the Prussians will be back after a little Jagerbrau.

Very nice, I like the buildings too and I really think that the grey-green (or green-grey?) of the tanks give them a very interesting "early industrial look" (if that make any sense…)

Buildings are creations of that building master, Skrapwelder. Originally his Martian structures though usually on dry dusty ground board with nary a bit of vegetation to be found :)

Several of those Prussians are liable to be her nephews, grandsons or even sons in law, however! So I hope for the sake of who gets what at Christmas, they didn't get too bad a thumping, or Granny will never hear the end of it over the Roast Beef/Turkey/Swan/Boar/Partridge stuffed with Quail etc etc...

I stand corrected... the Tsar Alexandrovich III will be pleased, his foolish son may be married to a German but Bismark and the like really give the Tsar gas! English liberals and Prussian Junkers, Bahh this is near anarchy... Long live Autrocracy -that and a good bottle of Vodka is all that is needed!
