Played a sample game at the open day that Warlord Games organised at Maelstrom last month.

Jury still out on the verdict.

Not a bad game. Very simple, relatively easy to learn. Obviously designed to be played on a huge table with 28mm figs, however, as the ranges are HUGE. We haven't played with the 15mm adjustments yet, but I would certainly do that next time, maybe even for 28s, as the movement and firing ranges just seemed, well, excessive.

That said, a fun game, worth a few plays.

Does what it says on the can ... good fast fun with loads of dice ... it is a 'game' but a damn good one ... keep away from playing anyone who is a real Nap Head though or they will moan your ears off!

Easy to explain and the rules can force you to take some risks.  They are geared more towards the "fun" side of the hobby and not the "simulation" side.
I have a cunning plan... as cunning as a fox who's just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University.

I've heard it is more of a 'game' than chess which is good, as I like that sort of thing.

Spectical, look and feel rather than millimeter accuracy.

Thanks chaps  :D

cheers

Jim,

Whilst the book itself is attractive, I felt the whole package was a triumph of style over substance. It was aggravating picking through lots of fluff to get to the meat, and when you did, it was a bit low fat for me. Don't get me wrong I like simple, but when a "large" unit of 30 or more figures can still only inflict a possible four casualties, well that just ain't right. The so called summary sheets are a bit missing on info too. All in all, it looks nice, but I have decided to give it a miss.
They will not force us,
They will stop degrading us,
They will not control us,
We will be victorious!!

I've had a couple of games in 15mm with cm instead of inches on a 5'x3' board using a scenario I'd played using the Grant rules from "The Wargame" which is my usual ruleset for C18th.
Worked very well and I thoroughly enjoyed it. As the others have said very much "game" rather than simulation which I prefer - and no "official" army lists which I hate.

I know at £30 it's not cheap - but I bought it unseen and was am happy with the results so far.
