Looking for bikes
« on: April 27, 2010, 05:41:19 PM »
Hello!

First of all: I´m new here, though I´ve been lurking around for a while, and I must say I love this forum!

Second: if this isn´t the correct place to post a topic like this, I´m sorry. Maybe a moderator can move it to a better place?

Now to my question: I´m building a moderna zombie shoot out in 28 mm scale (or 1/56 if you prefer). It is really hard to find cars in the correct scale for a reasonable price, but I´ve come to the conclusion that 1/43 works pretty well with the models when they have bases. The problem is: I can´t find MCs or bicycles in a good scale for my game. Do any of you have any ideas of where i can get hold of these? Thanks!

If you’re looking for motorized dirt bikes, as well, ramshackle games sells them both with and without riders, including hands in both cases.

Em-4 do a couple of bikes:

They're very cheap too which is always a bonus.

Welcome!

Check out HOT WHEELS motorcycles.  I have a couple and I think they scale up perfectly with 1/43

Here's a sample of them on EBAY

You can't beat that price.

Check out Commander Vyper's thread, towards the end of it, he's got some photos with one of the bikes in it.

I also have a few of these at home and would be happy to snap a pic if needed to scale it up for you.

Oh, a lot of answers, and really quick too! Thanks a lot for the info.

Any kind of motorcycle is fine, but the bicycles are more important.

We eill be playing my zombie shoot out at my local game store this sunday, I´ll try to take some pictures and post them in another thread here.

West Wind does bikes, too.

Some handywork with brass rods and paper clips?

I actually cannot remember to have seen more than a couple of bicycles, one as a part of a Foundry 'Home Guard pack..

Maybe they can be found in 1/48 plastic as part of some WWII sets or so...?

I´ve tried the paperclip, brassrod, plasticard trick, but it didn´t turn out well... ::)

I´ll see if I can find any 1/48 cits.

Eureka has a push bike (originally from their Vietnam range):

They also do a penny farthing!

Their pennyfarthing is really good, but not realy what I´m looking for... I want a plain, modern bicycle without a rider.

Maybe i will give the paperclip another go.
