Stunning!  :o  :o  :o

Words fail the immensity, detail and execution of this build.

This must be the greatest project ever undertaken on LAF surely?
Thanks for all the great comments guys :D
But hardly the greatest. Maybe the biggest or Maddess lol
Hmmm possibly a battle royal between Benbows rivier steamer and the gamer mac zepplin to determine that fsultana?  ;)
I would vote for the admirals river steamer. That is a real model :o

Curtis
I have just bought an airbrush so hopefully that will help with the painting.

I haven’t taken a picture of it yet but all the outside card board skin is now complete.
Next job on the outside is the tin foil covering.
We have both been doing little bits of detail for the inside.
My amateur efforts for the bomb bay. May not be historically correct but I have been unable to find any information on how this would have worked so I came up with this.

in position

Opposite side

You can also see the bomb trolley that I have had to convert as it was two big to manoeuvre around the hold.

My brothers efforts at some more boring detail. Yawn Yawn. :D

Oh My, everytime I see the latest pictures, I think you can't improve on the detail anymore and then you post these. Totally awesome, I am in awe of you and your brothers talents ;D :P

That bomb bay is stonking good.

It's a bit like with the Indiana Jones films, if it looks good it doesn't matter if it is not historically accurate. A definition of Pulp, I suppose.

I know that unlike our ancestors we are obsessed with health and safety issues these days but maybe a guardrail around the bomb bay door winch station would give the operator a degree of confidence....?

"Health and safety? Back in my day, we had none of this nancy-pansy HSSE stuff! We just did things! I remember when I was a kid, mom would send me to the grocery store with a dollar, and I'd come back with two sacks of flour, a side of pork belly, a dozen tins of beans, two gallons of milk... can't do that anymore, nowadays. Too many of those damn security cameras."

As for the bomb rack, I think it's very nice, and not too far off from reality. Practical, and you can have a desperate struggle between the hero and a henchman to avoid/perform the bombdrop, during which they roll over the edge, leaving the henchman to plummet to his death (not covered by his employer's insurance, obviously) while the hero clings on to a girder. Can't do that properly if you have all sort of safety rails and whatnots.

I'm the Health and Safety representative at our work and I try and ignore as much of it as possible  lol

LOVE the spare engine. Is it all scratch built or are there some bought parts for it?

cheers

Engine is all scratch built from plastic rod, tube and sheets. Also the, very rare, components made of small round cardboard discs. lol Which I would be willing to sell to anybody interested. :D

As for health and safety... Mitchell and Webb hit a bullseye with this:
