Sign me up for a trebuchet too! Looking forward to seeing your's painted up.  8)

Cheers for the link - you're fencing had crossed my mind - being a bit clueless about balsa can you get rounded sticks rather than the flat sheets of it?  I want to go for the sharpened log style

Dunno if you're still after ballista pics?

Catapult looks very cool!

you can find balsa in all the shapes you need, even if the cheaper one is in sheets. so you can buty 5 mm sheets and cut the round shapes... they looks pretty nice! :)

or if you want you can also buy round pieces, but you can pay 50 euros for a wall instead of 5 XD

thanks for the imgs, I'll paint the trebuchet soon... :)

Cheers - I might even go and have a look for a few twigs when I'm out with the dog in the morning - only just occurred to me not to over-engineer what could actually be a pretty straight forward terrain piece!  ::)

Yeah mate, palisades would be eaaasy.

Just get some twigs and some filler.

In fact, I recall a very good White Dwarf article on it...

All my WD's are at my parents, but Paul Sawyer made it for his Beastman army in the 90s. I think it was a tale of 4 gamers, the first time round. I remember there was a photo of him at a GW Sale with 3 boxes of Beastman chariots and his daughter clutching a sweep (Sooty and Sweep) soft toy which they had labelled as a beastman of the dark gods!  lol

I'd suggest getting some polystyrene to build the basic palisade shape, fixing twigs along the inner wall, sharpening them and then filling the gaps and sanding the front. Then, of course, paint them up!!!  :)

Firstly - wow that was quick - know its not finished but its shaping up beautifully!
Secondly - cheers for the link - exactly what I had in mind - the greenstuffing was something I hadn't thought of - off to search the loft for polystyrene and the garden for twigs in a bit!

Thanks for your tips as well Rob - like the Sweep story - always thought he was a bit mental!  ;D

I shall hijack this thread no more with talk of sharpened logs - on with the catapults!  >:D
