Okay one of my Agents has managed to get Teratophobia (All lurker Monster's are Hideous and Cause Fear).  Now if i give him the skill's of Rugged and Fearless which would over ride??

In my min i kind of think that they would set the phobia back to being neutral as in he'd concoqured what had caused the past issue.  But that kind of seem's a lot to pay??

Anyone thought of electro shock treatment to cure phobia's or even ways that if they do x it gets wiped out.  My Poor guy last night was the last man standing and maanged to take out 2 Lurkers before going down himself to a gun toting .22 Cultist.  he even managed to survive Close Combat without running..Nothing like shock tactics to face your fear.

Teratophobia (injury) causes Fear only if I understand corrrectly.   Fearless (skill) would override that.  Rugged (skill) would override all Hideous checks. 

Since a Lurker could cause both a Fear AND a Hideous check, 2 Resolve checks would normally be required; Fear at <10" and THEN Hideous in CC (Ouch).

So, as far as I understand it, neither Fear nor Hideous override each other; they both must be made as Resolve checks, if applicable.

But 2 injuries that cause Fear and Hideous checks would require 2 skills to negate/override the effects.  This seems in balance to me, as a Threshold Agent would have less room to improve on other things (skills) if he was pre-occupied with overcoming his fears...

Once you have terataphobia all Lurker models are Hideous and cause Fear. But you still have options...you always have options...

1. Kill the guy off! He's useless now! Send him out to die in future games...
2. Fix him! Take Rugged and Fearless...one for each. Yup. It's expensive...
3. Keep him safe! Stay away from scary things...give guy a BAR and sit back, safe and sane!
4. Go kill crazy! Make the model Suicidal and give him a Cleaver!

There a many more possible solutions, these are the easiest ones.  :)

Have to say unlike HerrUther i haven't lost an Agent yet  lol

Then again we need to get Cookie on here he's played 2 games and lost an Agent in every one  :o

The even bigger worry is we've only been using Cultists as the bad guys, okay they are nasty Cultists but its nice like its some uber monster of doom.

Lup, you right I did lose an agent to a shambler in the second game I played..... at least the agents of 'The Black Sun' aren't scaredy cats  ;D
