« on: July 04, 2010, 06:06:11 AM »
Yep we got the word that Cipher studios got the shipment of AE-Bounty rulebooks in on Friday and they are starting to ship.

Please let us know what you think of the game.

Cheers,
Robert

Yes, if you could post some teaser I'd be happy too. From what I see it could be an interesting project.

The basic rules are from AE-WWII and these are really great as a skirmish system. Add in a lot of customization options and you get a skirmish game I have been waiting for since it was announced ;)

I've waiting ages for these already, pre-ordered. Don't think i'll be using there range of mini's, I've got 15mm mercs from critical mass games instead. I'm hoping the game will be sort of necromunda in SPACE!

At last, I've been on the preorder list for what seems like forever, and after delay after delay i thought they'd never get sent. But anyway I'm looking forwards to this a lot, hopefully it'll cover the big hole that is detailed, yet fun sci-fi space opera gaming.

I posted a little preview of AE Bounty based on the final rulebook yesterday. It covers building a crew for the game.

Great short-summary. Definitly worth the wait  :)

A shame that the previews are to small to be read easily.

Cipher isn't listing it in their store.  Is their any other place to buy it?

Hmm this does sound very interesting.

As I'm currently on the look out for good skirmish systems that can be used to create stuff from various genres it seems to tick a lot of the boxes I want.

A huge amount of creative choice in gang creation is a must so it's got that covered, if it has built in campaign/experience systems I'll be very tempted indeed.
 :)

Edit: Just went to the "interview" thread that came up in the related topics...
"The AE-Bounty rulebook will contain rules for campaigns, which includes tracking casualties, experience points and equipment."

It is on preorder at the moment, when those who were on the preorder list have received it then i guess it'll go on general release.

One of our players did a small write up on using AE-Bounty to play stuff like Star Wars and Star Trek:

http://darksondesigns.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=bountyinfo&action=display&thread=2514

The rules and pre order figs are being shipped to all the folks that pre ordered and it is being shipped to our distributors. Than it will go up on the Cipher site for sale.

We will also have it at Gen Con if anyone wants to get a game in before making the final leap. ;)

Cheers,
Robert

So is it pure sci-fi...laser guns and powered weapons or do the weapons go down into the grittier less scientific weapons?

I'm considering this game from a kinda replacement to necromunda perspective, and other such drab less "utiopian" futures.

What difference does it make ? Just change the label from "laser rifle" to "rifle"  :D The rules don't change because of that.
