Heat Ray - it exists!!

It sort of reminds me a bit of the sonic weapons they used in the Hulk film. 

I can understand the development of weapons like this for destructive goals...but for crowd control?  It seems a little bit drastic to me.

On a similar note, there is also a crowd control device/ray that induces vomiting (I think it is a sonic weapon)...that is the sort of thing that seems more reasonable...discomfort and dissuasion rather than the possibility of people bursting into flames.

I must admit that I find it a bit disappointing that after all this time messing about with lasers and the like, they still haven't managed to make decent, man portable, death-rays...I always thought that the general, military will, was better than that.
