fantasy village wip
« on: July 22, 2010, 07:21:07 PM »
hy there fellow builders.
i am starting next years tactica project with a friend - welf VIII. it will be a small fantasy village with some dungeon underneath. our first two houses are on the way. we could not finish them today as i did not buy enough wood to do the framework. but a big part of the work is done enough to post some pictures.
we will post more as soon as possible - here we go...

A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

that's a great start! :)

if you are bored to make roofs for all the buildings, or windows frames, you can use some modular ones!

it depends if it fits with the styile you were thinking about!:)

I think you need a sharper blade, those cut edges look very jagged and you're tearing the surface paper...

thanks for all the kind words - helps a lot so please go on!!!!

it took a while till we found time to get together again but today the work went on.
we "aged" the wood and put in some windowframes. it is not much but we are very happy how it turned out.
we stopped cause we have to decide on the height of the roof - and we couldnīt. so we like to ask you for your input. please tell us what you think.

@silversixx: the dungeon part will be the last to build so you have to wait a little while. it will be done with dwarvenforge pieces and pimped with special handmade parts and decor from my collection.

@anevilgiraffe: you are right but the walls will be covered with a mix of fine sand, colour and woodglue. i hope i can leave some small areas free to show the straw filling underneath the plaster.

please enjoy:

we used two needles. a small one glued into a piece of wood so i can use it like a pen and a much bigger needle. i will put the bigger one in a piece of wood like the small one to make the handling easier. will post a picture of the tools in a few days.
