First of all, thanks for all the great comments.
Special thanks to Bako for some invaluable reference pics.
Apologies again for no casino pics (
soon). I've been flitting from one item to the next and back again instead of uber-concentrating on one item so lots of in progress pics of different items. I've been building lots of the smaller structures from the west side of the colony that can be easily adapted to generic games.
Three huts...self contained structures with different interiors. Foamboard walls, functioning doors, hardboard base and cereal card detailing. Here I'm dry-fitting the floor texture which will only be glued in place once the walls are painted so no paint mess on the floor.

Building the roof structure. Illustration board top glued to insulation foam to bulletproof the structure...two young kids and a cat about. I'll probably use cereal card for the next roof though.

The rest of the insulation foam is covered with card paper. I'll probably use cereal card next time as it does look a bit wavy due to the thinness of the paper but most of that will be covered with detailing so no big deal. Template was planned, drawn, and cutout to make the roof structures from cereal card.

The roof structures get reinforced with whatever scrap pieces are laying about within reach...in this case foam-board.

More detailing added to roof

and to the sides.

Still lots of small details to add before detailing the interior. Second and third huts are at the first picture stage.
Also in the works is the tower structure located behind the Bar and Grill.
Started with two templates, one slightly smaller than the other. Taped them together so they are centered and labeled them carefully to indicate alignment and orientation.

Next drilled 8 holes for the 3/16 inch dowel support columns. With the two templates taped together when drilling, I'm insured that all the holes will be aligned between the top the bottom plate. That's why labeling the orientation is important. Tip: drilling on a sacrificial block of wood prevents splintering on the bottom piece.

Dry-fitting the structure together. The dowels were cut to length and two simple cube structures were made from foam-board. I'm not sure what function these have and to keep maximum flexibility, the cubes were given interior floors so that figures can be placed inside comfortably. That way I can use them as elevated science huts or as simple water tanks.

Batteries died. More pics later
Off to make pizza now.
Cheers
