ACW2 Fire in the Valley campaign game #2
« on: 24 July 2010, 11:20:53 PM »
Last night we had our second campaign game. Much larger than the first this was a meeting engagement between two large forces, Nationalist and Constitutionalist. LEADFOOL, his friend Robert, Alfrik, Black Cavalier and I fought it out until last call at the local gaming establishment.

The full report can be read here with more pictures.

There was a temorary alliance of the Communists and the Nationalists (like Stalin and Schickelgruber) against the contitutionalists.  Death to moderation!
Note the Reds were on the left side of the road and the Nationalists were on the right.

Nice table!  Very imaginative!

A unit of policeman?  A red armored car?   :o

Strange people...

The red armored car is part of the communist force, big surprise.  The police unit is from the more fervent members of the Sacramento Police department.  All the units have a historical (however loose) base to industries, businesses or organizations in the Greater Sacramento or San Juaquin Valleys.

This battle was a lot of fun and got rather involved.  It was also well received by the other gamers in the store.

For campaign purposes it was rather dramatic as lots of troops were killed, but a number of units also improved in quality.  There aren't as many raw troops as before.  There were lots of of oppurtunities to "See the elephant"

I have to post that my Nationalist forces had to be cited for wasteful expenditure of small arms munitions, failure to exhibit proper identifying arm bands, lack of enthusiasm, failure to carry out orders and a couple cases of drunken disorderly. Only my well conditioned 1st Mobile Police Force performed by the numbers, advancing in good order, laying down covering fire and otherwise performing admirably. The Dockworkers Local 86 rabble was the source of most of the above mentioned charges!
