Yes they are crazy, but I've just ordered all the Brigade Games merchant and river boat crews.

So I've got to have one. :D

Now, where can I get the big monkey?

we have the Reaper one - he will be featured in my son's historicon game that is a 2 level game - first part takes place in the park and the streets of NYC over to the Empire state building which will go stright to the ceiling and dissappear into the clouds -

to reappear in the lobby -  yes the top of the building will reappear in the lobby , planes, gorilla, girl, MG toting jeeps and all

Ah. Only in America...

Lon, thanks for the various merchant sailors (and the swish swashbuckling ladies) who made it across the pond in safety today.

Beautiful figures all. (They may even jump the Copplestone cave people in the painting queue.  )

Horrors, I think I feel another scratching building project on the horizon! Hey maybe we should run an informal forum competition! Who's with me

Richard,

So did anyone bite on building a Tramp Steamer? I would be up for building one, need something to carry all the big creatures back from those lost continents!

So Richard & I are up for a contest, who else??

I'm prepared to give it a go.  Even with just 3 of us so far its a truly international affair over 3 continents!  Surely in the spirit of Pulp adventure as we cross the seven seas.

Perhaps we should start a separate thread for it? What were you guys thinking of building steamers from? I'm thinking the following:

- Foam card superstructure for the basic hull shape.

- Plasti card sheet (probably scored to resemble steel sheet) over that to produce a nicely curved hull. Or possibly just find a PDF cardboard ship (somebody mentioned one) and print the hull detailing out on card stock and use that.

- Balsa over foam card for the basic deck.
- Loading cranes could either be wooden dowels, or plastic rod.
- Cabin work would probably be foam card again.

Detailing the deck and cabin work would take the most time I reckon. For that I'd probably master and mold/cast some resin pieces. Maybe portholes, ventilators and a few life preservers :)

Here's some more inspiration although it's 15mm scale alas!

The model is really great, just the item I've been looking for, I would like to know if the deck lifts off as well.
