The caps are scored strips of styrene. I tried to be clever and bend them into a V shape but they snapped everytime so I left them in two pieces.

Yeah that's the problem I was having trying to design some - best approach I have come up with is to do the top layer in single shingles (cut from a strip of slates), and then in the slight V that you get between the two upper rows glue a length of around 1-1.5mm diameter styrene rod.  Paint the rod and the upper rows of slates a terracotta colour and the rest of the slates gray and they will look like clay ridge tiles...

Very nice indeed!!!  :-*

I especially like the roof set-up as I've been planning to do a similar style roof on some future buildings. It's nice to see an example ( saves leg-work!!).
Amazing how many of those "slums" fetch such good prices today.......
Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Regards

I'm at the halfway mark with one half of the terrace pretty much finished. Just the road sign to add. I'll start work on the next half tomorrow.

The first thing I will say the pics are a bit rushed as The Sticky Fingered One was about to get home from nursery. Apologies.

In the next pics I've shown it alongside some of my other recent builds. I didn't have time to include all the buildings but it gives you an idea of where I'm going with the project. Again, as I was rushed the layout is a bit crap (the roads and pavements aren't finished yet and dont quite align - all in good time though  :)). I'll get some more pics uploaded soon.

Hope it meets with your approval.

Roads and pavements are very nice as well. Where did you get the roads?

So what? You made a couple of giant Vallejo paint pots and a ruler then photographed them in your street? I suppose that's quite clever but is it wargaming?

Great set-up. Mrs Dewbakuk said that in the above shot, the only thing that told her it was a model was the small bottle of paint in the corner. Gotta be praise worthy :)
So many projects..... so little time.......

Holy Crap but that looks good!

I really need to get to work. Between you and PM there's like a carpet of un-retrieved gauntlets on my floor.

Fantastic! It already looked great as a standalone piece, but alongside the rest of it....simply amazing!
