28mm 1982 lebanon project
« on: August 12, 2010, 09:25:08 PM »
Lafers,
Here are a few of the things I am currently working on for my 1982 middle east project first is some terrain all made of foam board(Thanks wolf girl for the inspiration) 2 buildings still need to be skimmed and then postered up and painted. next we have some arab fighters with a solido repaint in the back ground for blocking line of sight and behind that is a pile of rubble and lastly we have some IDF ,this will be an on going terrain project for use with all sorts of different time periods from the 50's on I purposely made dooorways and windows a little larger then normal so that I can use these with my modern 40mm russians. I figured I would do 8-10 buildings of various sizes to change up the eye lines abit before doing the actual board.
hope you like.

This is awesome - I have some of those minis for the exact same purpose, but shelved the idea due to lack of scenery. I hope to see more so I might get inspired again.

I really like those buildings! It looks like the roof of the one on the right warped a bit. If you paint the other side it might pull it back a little.

Sheerluck holmes, 6milphil, thanks for the good words and I am glad you like the stuff, I plan on possibly doing for each group 1 tank 1 APC (come on Brent with the BTR-152) and 1 support weapon to start then each group will grow.
So far I have 1 M113 zelda currently being built. 1 zsu-23 fresh out of paint and 2 new figures for both sides on the desk,
I am pondering doing a couple of downed houses/business lots of cool potential there lots of rebar suspended decks piles of rubble might try and knock that out tonite? will see stay tuned.

Aaron, It sure did warp, I will try painting the other side and see if it pulls it down a bit so much for non shrinking wood filler LOL lol. I will have to reinvent how I do roofs in the future maybe I will use jeso only instead of the wood filler on the roofs? for texture if it does'nt pull back I might redo it. Now the big question is to mount them or not so that I can maximize there use.

Glad to help one point I forgot yesterday was if you want to lighten the base up straight yellow mixed to taste with the russian uniform is something I 've been working on , it yields great results as well just a little brighter then the flesh mix.
