Star Fleet Infantry uniform
« on: 19 August 2010, 03:51:30 AM »
Just in case anyone is interested.

This part of this episode shows a dying, dirt covered Federation Infantryman with Jake Sisko.

Interestingly, for those nerdy enough to be concerned about it, he asks Jake if he saw any "Star Fleet Patrols."  This says to me that Star Fleet probably does not have a separate army or marine force, but that their ground troops are effectively naval infantry.

Anyway, enjoy.

to bad we wont give them a functinal uniform or kit for that matter lol
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

bloody awful episode that one... no wonder the Klingons were winning... you can't fight an armoured enemy hand to hand in a safari suit and pull on shoes... at least the movies gave the security troops armour...

this must be the DS9 version of the essential red shirt
black and a red bar - "expendable"

I prefer the away mission gear in ST II

It was probably budget constraints more than anything.  It costs much less to modify an existing costume than to design and build a complete infantry/armored costume to be used in one episode.

That was agonizing to watch!  I forgot how much I hated that show.  Give me Space: Above and Beyond any day.

Maybe, but at least it was a ST infantry combat episode, and I think you can count those on one hand, even with all the series combined.

I will give you that GB.  :D
But I am more of a  SAB, BA5, and FarScape fan. That being said I still enjoy Star Trek and hats of to it creaters and writers.

Agree with you on BA5 and Farscape, but I thought that DS9 was good, and has aged pretty well.  Still, I'd like to see Farscape again; pity they killed Dargo.

Why I liked Enterprise, at least the Mako's made sense, and looked cool. Pulse phase rifles and force batons nice!  :D
