I think I'd rather go down Rusiian or Greek orthodox routes first.

I reckon they'd make spiffy figures.

Plus alter servers are a must.

And tourists / civilians

Too many things to make!

Greek and Russian orthodox would be great. And you'd cover a group represented by a single 28mm generic miniature by TAG at the moment.

a don Camillo with shotgun would be nice too, preferably a Fernadel lookalike   ;)

My first thought too though I'd give him a BAR or a Bren Gun. There was this Don Camillo movie where they flashed back to the war years when he was a partisan. Don Camillo had a beard, rolled up sleeves, ammo belts across the chest and a big-ass gun. A totally badass priest. That would make a great mini, one I'd jump on in a minute (especially if it has Fernandel's face!).

(Man, first it's Michael Bolton, now it's Don Camillo. What is wrong with me?!?)

Vatican civil war would be easy enough - monks with guns vs nuns with guns perhaps, or there are VBCW Anglican clergy already available so you could go for the traditional Catholic vs Protestant option.

If you can add in the Greek/Russian orthodox too you're onto a four faction game before we even add in the Japanese tourists, atheists, cultists, or zombie players.

Apart from Don Camillo, how about Father Brown (Alec Guiness or Kenneth More)

How about someone wielding a bishops crozier as a standard (or melee weapon), or a sniper hiding behind a lectern ?

Or Heinz Rühmann?!

Minis are also nice for some "666" themed games

Years ago I saw a photo (National Geographic perhaps?) taken "around the back" at Vatican City, showing two members of the Swiss Guard in their full parade outfits carrying Steyr-Aug assault rifles. It was just strange enough to make me remember it vividly...

Love the figures :P  I've been planning to do a HoTT army on this theme for a couple of years now, but trying to find suitable figures was always a problem. I will definitely be getting some of these and look forward to the Swiss Guard when they come out. How about some Templars as well ;)

I knew there was a reason I thought Tommy guns were a perfect choice for these guys- I've been working my way back through the Judge Dredd case files and in the Judge Child Quest the monks of the Brotherhood of Trash have Thompsons, although their "mutie mincers" have drum magazines. I can't wait to see who these are going to.

Seconded!

Fantastic! Any chance of doing alternative versions armed with 19thC weapons and stakes etc for Vampire or Werewolf hunting?

If so, they would be perfect for all manner of Gothic Horror/VSF scenarios.
