Greetings!

Inspired by my new HLBS Great White North figures, I have started researching the Allied intervention in Murmansk and ArKhangelsk.  Quite an interesting campaign fought there, with Brits, Canucks, Yanks, French (including Colonials), Serbs and Poles all attempting to assist the Whites in holding off the Bolos.

I have found a bit of information on Commonwealth uniforms (same uniform as on the Western Front in spring/summer/fall and Shackleton gear in winter), but can anyone help me with the uniforms of the other troops?  In particular, what uniforms were worn by the Poles and the Serbs?

Thanks in advance

Will

Serbs? Didn't know htey've been involved. The polish blue army would have been equipped with french uniforms, but they fought in the ukrainian region. There has been a polish corps in northern russia fighting with the whites that's been originally raised by the tsar, so russian uniforms would be an option.

This probably goes without saying: Osprey has a men-at-arms book on the topic. The Russian Revolution: the White Russians.

Speaking of which, have this been featured at LAF?

For Poles, try [R23] from Gauntlet Publications. The Russian Civil War - Interventionist Forces

Thanks for the advice.  Naturally I should have considered Osprey (although I haven't seen that SS one before...) and those Russian books look great.

Cheers

That SS one is a hoax. Osprey had a silly titles contest, and the winner got an Osprey-cover.

Ohh, I was just abouty to phone them and place my order. It looks like quite an informative and essential book to get hold off, and I would like to get hold of those

Dont tell the wife I would not be able to justify my "Leather Bum Smacker weekly" as a periodical of note for wargamers gaming pulp
