What rules would you use?
« on: 25 October 2010, 11:01:46 AM »
If I wanted to run a fast paced post-apocolypse car vs. car game, using micro machines (n scale) cars, what rules would you recomend?
Theres more 28mm Superhero Madness at my blog, http://fourcoloursupers.blogspot.com/
And for Ultra-modern Wargaming check out Hotel Zugando at http://ultramoderngaming.blogspot.co.uk/

I don't have a lot of experience in car combat games but take a look at the Autoduelin' on I-64 for more experience:

Other than that Dark Future comes to mind.
Let me hear the battle cry
Calling on the wind
Let me see the banners fly
Before the storm begins

Worth having a look on the Free Wargames Rules site. Lots of rules for post-apoc car duels.
Waiter, my soup is giggling.

Isn't Dark Future freely available anymore? Is that the kind of game you're after?

EDIT: Found them here - http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1340008_Dark_Future.pdf - hope they're useful!

I didn't think Dark Future was that 'fast play'. The games we had (many, many years ago) were always long drawn out affairs.

cheers

Axles & Alloys also works well.
You, sir, are not allowed to attempt a takeover of the solar system until your octopus sobers up.

I use the 1/64 scale Jada Battle Machines. They already have the weapons on them.

I'd give warlands from aberrant games a try.  It's simple, fairly fast playing, and very cinematic.  Might want to halve the ranges for smaller sized vehicles tho, it made for ~20mm or so sized figures.
