Congregation is telling you what particular type of lurker you can have in said cult.
Allowable Cultist = cannon fodder for best part
Just same as a Threshold group
Character = Magus
Agents =  Congregation
Civilian = Allowable Cultist

Civilian = Allowable Cultist

Got it now. Just have to define what they are now. (Human could be Civilian, but what is an Allowable Cultist Undead, or Humanoid?)

Undead is your typical horror nasty - skeletons, zombies, mummies. and humanoid is any other horror that stands on two legs and could be mistaken for human in very dark places or thick mists.

 This is listed in the stats in SA, with the beta version not having those lists I can see people getting confused, but it does mention you need a copy of the S rules for the beta version  ;)

I get that. In the SA book, there's a section for Undead Lurkers, which lists these units: Zombie, Mummy, Conglomerate, Blasphemous Construct. Now, making a list for a cult force, I see listed under Allowable Cultist the unit "Undead." Can I pick any of those? If not, what, specifically, is an Allowable Cultist 'Undead'?

I asked this question
The Death Cult has no Blasphemous Creature as a Congregation but could he be used as a Allowable Cultist (Undead and Human)

Uncle mike answer
The Death Cult will has access to the Blasphemous Construct, since it is Undead...but can only gain two skills as it is not in the Congregation. A crazy powerful model already.

You got it Scorpio...any 'Undead' model that is not in your Congregation is an Allowable Cultist. In the case of Undead: Blasphemous Construct...or a Mummy who isn't your Magus...

Don't worry, soon you will be able to add Zombie Dog and Ancient Warrior to that list (S.T. #2). :P

Perfect, that's what I was trying to clarify. Danke!

Going to give this set up a try this week, they are useing the weapons they come with help to keep the points down.
Cult De Ghoul
Magus
Cult Leader  + Heavy Armour
Congregation
Ghoul
Ghoul
Ghoul
Witch  +1 extra familiar
Maniac
Allowable Cultist
Human  Grave Digger  weapon a rifle
Total TCR
40

Death Cult
Magus
Mad Scientist + Heavy Armour
Congregation
Zombie
Zombie
Zombie
Zombie
Allowable Cultist
Undead  Blasphemous  Construct

Total TCR
40
Scenario will be Fight  and it’s over who has the right to the dead in the grave yard.

On a side note I did think about removing 2 zombie and the heavy armour and put in a Colglomerate
Could also drop the heavy armour and give a ghoul Dynamite

I'd just like to say 'Thanx' to everyone who has sent me questions/comments about V.U.K. so far. Some really thoughtful insights from some of you fellers.  :)
I will get back to all of you personally...just may take a few days longer than normal due to the amount of mail... 8)
Also, feel free to ask questions in this thread as well.

Thanx again everyone and keep those questions comin'!

2nd Edition is 18 months away at the absolute minimum; probably more like 2 years +.  Shocking Tales #2 and Kulten will both appear first.

Another dumb question: you mentioned the Banshee and the Mojo. Are Ghosts Undead? Or is a Ghost a different type than Undead?

Apart from using a Holy Book to dispel Ghost once a game, there is no mention of who can or how to bless weapons.

Ghosts are their own Lurker type.  All the rules are posted under Resources on the Strange Aeons site.

After reading the pdf I've got a question: do Rogue Treshold agents/characters have access to the Extra Gear from Page 47 SA, or do they change to Lurkers because of their rogue status?
Far less active than I used to...
