Have you heard of Götterdämmerung?
« on: 02 November 2010, 01:39:17 PM »
I found this company/game yesterday, and the minis look good…

I was wondering if anybody has seen them?
Are they 28mm?
How/what is the game?
Any info on the mechanics of the game itself?
Thanks!

I've never seen it thought he term is used in many agmes as meaning the end of days or to that idea.

Some nice looking stuff there as well, but needs a better painter to pick out some of the fantastic detail.

It's German for Ragnarök. And the name of an opera. The really cool brooding music out of Excalibur is from it.

There are a few useful minis here. I have a squad in the works that this fellow would fit well in:

Strangely enough, I'd always heard it referred to as death of or twilight of the gods, thought auto-translate comes out 'god dawn'.

I'd the impression that it was the general decline of the Vahallans, and that Ragnarok was the final battle where the Gods and Giants wipe each other out. Or were there survivors? The opera is the last of Wagner's Ring Cycle, charmingly condensed as 'twenty hours later, and you're right back where you started!' As long and overblown as it is, it's the most accessible of opera to me, and I rather don't care for opera in general. Go figure.

I find many of the figures quite charming as well, with some paint jobs I'd not pitch out of my case, thank you very much. ;->=

Many may seem a bit 'punk, but I oft enjoy games that have a slightly crazed scientist or inventor trying to keep the iron monsters running, and there's a nefarious vizir there that's quite a bit of alright!

Thanks for the pointer!
