Brigade's Resin Diner
« on: 21 November 2010, 08:47:11 PM »
I don't know if Brigade has this on their site yet, but I recently received their Atomic Cafe 1957 diner.

This is just the diner portion. There is a drive up portion as well. It is a bit pricey because of all the resin needed, but great for any 1950s or onward scenarios (you could even make it some kind of Sonic Drive In restaurant if you wanted it for modern zombie games).

Reminds me a little of the diner in Land of the Lost. Sooooooooo many things can be done with this excellent piece......!

I can see it as the Orbit Room in Chicago, with Detective Mike Torello and the Major Crime Unit sallying forth across the parking lot to combat Ray Luca and his guido Paulie Taglia and their crime exploits.
And in the background, you hear Del Shannon plaintively singing "Runaway"....
Ok, tell me just one more time: _Where_ am i going, and _Why_  am I in this handbasket?

i think the same.

it is really nice, but the sculpting quality is really poor.
I mean, i believe that you will make this a masterpiece, but they could make something better, making your work easier!

I plan to get one. It will be the centerpiece for my Cold Wars game.   They really are nice in person.  The picture presented still has flash, etc.  The piece is a solid chunk of resin you could kill a mutie with.  It also comes with a detached car hop area.  Perfect for those roller girls.

Everyone should bug Lon for him to post pictures of his 1950's billboards and ruined road sections.  I hear those are nice as well. Though I am a wee bit biased.

I got lucky a couple weeks ago at my local weekend swap meet/flea market and found Mattel's version of Flo's V8 Cafe from the Disney movie Cars.  It's perfect for 28mm and reminds me a lot of Brigade's Atomic Cafe 57 shown above.  As I said I was lucky and it cost me only $5.00 (all that was missing was the stand-alone sign otherwise in perfect condition).  When I checked it out on ebay I found how lucky I really was because the Mattel version is selling from $80 and up.  So the Brigade cafe may not be too experience by comparison.
