Interesting stuff, great to see it all in one place (in a thread, I mean). I am very keen on seeing the finished results.

Looking at the sizes of the washers I use for cavalry and artillery, some 40mm rings wouldn't go amiss. Definitely an opportunity for those of us who want to make scenic bases for guns and horses.

Good job, SI. Thanks for sharing that!

Those look great, I'll keep jb's laser-cut rings in mind whenever I start doing skirmish bases up!

Amazing! How simple yet effective! I had never come to this. I wonder whether there are suitable O-rings to replace the perspex solution.

Those look great!

JimBibbly (or SI, whoever!), what's the cost on those laser-cut rings?

Great stuff S.I. The Native Americans on the oblong trays are very evocative, and the ability to change base frontage simple, tho' brilliant. :)

Nice thing! As more multibase games are getting on my wish list (e.g. impetus) trays are becoming a serious need. Ever thought of a drill hole saw?

Wonderful Steve. I think you may have solved my problem...  :)

James, I need a couple dozen of those laser cut rings please, cos I want to apply SIs cunning approach to my own irregular outlined tray, single-ply tray.
If it works, then I'll be after another coupla hundred!  :D

They look really great SI.

I'm looking at making movement trays in the new year so have followed this thread with interest.

Hello chaps, thought I'd show my face and answer a couple of questions  :)

Cracking stuff there SI, you've really done a great job on them  :)

The cost of what SI wanted was £15 in total and that was for four bases and 30 rings, the bases being 1.5mm acrylic and the rings being 1mm acrylic. These are based on Steve's measurements and the postage was £2 in the UK but any size, arrangemement or quantity can be sorted.

I'm happy to accept any custom requirements that any of you have so just drop me a line at

info@oshiromodelterrain.co.uk

Capt, drop me a pm or mail and we'll go from there.

Bit of advice for those wanting to work with acrylic for the first time, DON'T use a hole saw for cutting through acrylic because it will shatter and send little shards of or acrylic everywhere and believe me, the buggers hurt! You will need to key the surface aswell, a bit of 180 grit sandpaper should do the trick, or, if you want them clear then no problems  :D

cheers

James
