With your modelling and painting skills, I'm anxious to see how yours would end up.

You humble me sir.

Having magnetised banners although a great way to save on time and money, but for me I aint even entertaining the idea.  This army is very much a labour of love which is giving me lots of experience at both conversions and painting that my Black Templars never could acheive.  So there will be a shrine themed specifically for each god, maybe even an undivided one also.  The Nurgle one is infact ready for construction which is going to be same sort of deal but using the tzeentch sorcerer from games day last year heavily converted into a nurgle sorcerer, only reason why is for the pose which is perfect for my idea.  There will be an alter with a sacrifice having his intestines cut and then pulled out by the sorcerer's ungloved hand (one without the eye) and then the knife in the other so a sort of aztec/nurgle/reading the auspices kind of deal not decided on the power of movement though is either 2 chaos knight horses (which I have 20 spare from the chosen) or empire flaggelants mixed with zombie bits pushing it (which i have plenty of as well).

Right well this is totally unplanned.......

I went into the local GW to buy a wash and ended up coming out with a Finecast Dragon Ogre Shaggoth.

Now I have always wanted one of these I honestly think this is possibly the best model GW make to my knowledge.....absolutely love it.  Only issue I had was the weight of it, never been a fan of large metal models to tempremental to falling apart unless pinned left right and centre.

Anyway now it is in resin I had no hesitation.......

preped in on Friday night for an hour and started painting it today.

Progress

Thanks pal

May I introduce the latest additional to my ever growing chaos horde.........

Nidhoggr the Red

Despite all the negative comment floating around the internet about Finecast, I am going to say this model was exceptionally cast and a pleasure to build and paint.

Nice! Glad you got a good cast, you seem to be one of the few  :?.
I am looking for the following Deadlands minis:  Shotgun Thug, Lost Soul, Cleaners, Railroad Workers & Feral Dead. If you have any of these minis, or if you are one, please send me a PM.

MrDee has always been, "one of the few....."
I forgot about him as an example of the new finecast models...
How old is THAT sculpt? Great job though... and I agree, built and painted in a day is just showing off!

That is a sweet PJ. Nice muted colours.

How did you do the snow on the base? I've never quite managed to get snow to look right.

Thanks matey.  When there is something I really want to paint, nothing hinders me, well broken fingers might.

Nice! Glad you got a good cast, you seem to be one of the few  :?.

Give them time, they will pull their fingers out and get some quality control on the go....hopefully.

One of the few....more jam than Hartleys me mate :D

Painting it so fast is just me pushing myself mate see what I can do, if I am being honest I could have done it faster if it wasn't for distractions.

Thanks my Italian friend.  Nothing official about it mate, Nidhoggr is the dragon/serpent from norse mythology that lives at the bottom of the world tree and is considered the manifestation of evil, that coupled with the fact him and the tree would be the only survivors after ragnorok thought it was a perfect name for a creature that is supposed to be the oldest in the warhammer world.

Thanks pal.  Snow is done with water, pva and bicarbonate of soda mixed into a paste and applied with a brush and then a little bicarb sprinkled ontop.  try to get bicarb which is slightly coarser, if it is too powdery then it will look poo pants.

The latest addition, like all the rest of your FINE Army, is BEAUTIFULLY DONE! I especially like the gore encrusted axe & the Oh-So-Cool base.

Very very nice!

Though it made me dig up my old 2nd hand Shaggoth from the lead pile and strip the ugly paint job it had...  More to paint to appease the chaos gods :)
Why aim for gold if you can get lead?
