No, they are in their Zulu War range (listed under "British") and are for that war. For one thing most of them are carrying Martinis (Westley-Richards carbines would be much more representative of Transvaal War Boers if Ian Knight is correct, and he seems to know his stuff), but the real clincher is that the one with the helmet is meant to be Piet Uys (not named as such on their website, but he was so identified here when they announced them). Uys commanded the Transvaal Burgher Force in the Zulu War and was killed at the battle of Hlobane.

Oh , ok . I presumed as there was only a couple years difference in the conflicts they could be used for both , still if it's only the type of rifle thats different that wouldn't worry me too much , although I understand why it would some.

I agree with you. I'd have no problem using them either. I'm not saying they can't be used for the Transvaal War, merely that their intended purpose is clearly for the Zulu War, for the reasons already outlined.

A couple of packs of 1880 Boers on foot.
Then start with the Egyptian campaign.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Maybe an addon for the Zulu War stuff, and cover the Xhosa wars? That stuff was kicking of all the time including around the time the Zulus and the Brits were happily doing each other in.

Oh but, Ultra Modern Brits, I need some Ultra Modern Brits for my 'When the world finally collapses in on itself' project!

I too have to say that NW Frontier by Empress would be an outstanding range if AZW is anything to go by. Lots of colourful units to paint.

Others that might be of interest would be Boxer rebellion and Russo-Japanese War. What about the first Afgan war (retreat from Gandamak etc) in the 1840's?

Oh yes, another vote for modern Brits as well please!

I would cast my vote for Boxers or Northwest Frontier
It is what it is.

I have to agree. Never have too many Boxers or Pathans. Or Dervishes for that matter.

I would like to see some  Frontier Light Horse and  Native contingents myself. That way I can stop scouring evil bay for the odd Foundry pieces that come up now and again.

Sadly that makes two of us. I really, really want to get loads of their figures, both Zulu War and the modrn SAS types but am having to be disciplned and focus on the Pery Sudan range for my current purchases.  :(

Hopefully I'll be able to go to Zululand in the not-too-distant future  :)

My guess is we will have to await Salute as so many centre releases around this show - great if you are London based or can get and exceedingly annoying if you cannot.

If its Boxer or Russo/Japanese my wallet will be totally f**ked, I have quite a few of the zulu brits and dont have an interest in that period/location. Wouldn't mind seeing NWF either.
