haha, thank you all for the kind words!!! And the reference images were very appropriate!!! Good stuff. I do plan on using this model whenever possible in the future, we will see how it feels placed in different scenarios or time periods...the childcatcher figure would be a great idea!

An interesting museum in the town of Rothenburg on the Tauber which was used in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (it provided the village/town setting) and the kiddie catcher wagon sits outside the museum doors.
If you thought the wagon was scary, you should tour the museum with a ten year old....I think he described it as "five floors of gothic horror, with an annexe showing how to torture witches" on the postcard home.

(Oddly enough we went there on honeymoon too, but that's another story)

People need to put warnings on posts that contain the childcatcher from Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang! I now have to go and change the underpants!
I may have to sue!
Definately the most scary character ever... Hanibal Lecter...Pah! He merely gives me an uncomfortable feeling. The child catcher gives me stomach knotting terror.

Love the model of the wagon and added denziens. Have just painted a pile of the Kindersnacht stuff.... need the wagon now..... (well the person I am painting them for needs the wagon.

Rothenburg has been used as a backdrop for many fims/adverst etc. Truly an amazing place if you ever get the chance to visit, do! It certainly will inspire anyone who wants a Bohemian backdrop to their Gothic Horror games.

Great work there! I've now got mine out of its 'half cleaned up' storage box and am still trying to work out the positioning of 4 pieces - 2 are possibly to 'attach' to the oxen (approx 4 cms long with nail on one side and a spike near either end) although I can't work out how. there are also 2 small flat oblong pieces (112mm X 7mm) with a nail or similar sticking out - Ihave no idea on these at all!

Any help appreciated!

A grainy pic of my own attempt. The wagon is somewhat converted and not all vanmpire kids are included in the kit.

(I hope to get a new macro lense for my digital slr next week.)

Nice stuff. Incidentally, Chitti Chitti Bang Bang was on at the weekend and even in my advanced years the child catcher still gives me the creeps: "There are children here somewhere...I can smell them".

excellent Hammershield! Thank you for putting up an image of your own..I like the addtion of the chains and the children being included inthe scene. Shows a good deal of scale. Did you make the harness object that controled the bulls?

also, I like the girls with white hair...very creepy
