Agent Lefebvre - A new mini by Fiendish Fabrication
« on: 27 February 2011, 09:38:22 PM »
Hi all, here's a look at our newest mini: Agent Lefebvre.
Let us know your thoughts.

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

VERY COOL mini! The Piratey appearance makes her useful in a number of roles...love those goggles.

She doesn't immediately scream VSF to me, but that's just down to my personal viewpoint. Lovely mini though and I could certainly use her in my other SF games  :D

Goggles ≠ Steampunk. Unless you're lazy. I want everyone to know. Looks more like an 18th century "secret" agent.

She could well pair with Reaper's Andre Durand and make the core of a French VSF force, so long as the emphasis is much more firmly on "Fiction" and less on "Victorian" and "Science".
You, sir, are not allowed to attempt a takeover of the solar system until your octopus sobers up.

Except for the pistol; difficult to tell from this angle, but pretty sure it's post 1800. *shrug*

The boots do seem right out, though...

Bit hard to see; I'm frustrated when an image is mostly background and legends. You should hear me curse when perusing eBay. ;->=

Also, for those of us not familiar with your company, a link seems apropos.

Thinking about it, I could see her as Skipper of a sky-pirate aeronef. Definitely several possible uses.

Doug, thanks for posting that link - there are some very unusual and attractive minis there!

Hunter Hawk and    Professor von Faustleibe are particularly nice  :)

Thanks for all you kind replies.

Ah ha... That what she was designed for. We have a game currently in the development stage under the working title of: SteamPulp. Set in an alternative 19c where the Caribbean is the fuel hub of Auld-Euro growing sugar and turning it into Ethyl Alcohol through huge island-based factoriums.
There's some info here on our website as well as a PDF with a bit of fiction. http://www.fiendishfabrications.com.au/html/fiendish_factory.html

And yes, she is a bit 18c but that was intended to make her look different  and to fit in with her soon to follow crew.

She's living the life of a pirate, not attending fancy dress!  lol

Okay, it's been noted that Victorians loved their eccentrics, and after attending one too many performances of Penzance with her mama, Lefebvre ran off to the, hmm, can't remember Victorian for Caribbean, with just enough money to start up a group of like-minded wackos...

You have to think just that convoluted to avoid cries of "Too steampunk! Not VSF! Should be on 'Other Adventures'!"

Trust me; I've had the experience. ;->=
