Paint scheme - need suggestions
« on: March 03, 2011, 03:19:31 AM »
I will soon be painting some plastic SST Mobile Infantry from Mongoose, and am pretty set on  imitating Bundeswehr Flecktarn for the armor.  So my question is, what should I paint the clothes underneath?  I am stuck on what would work well. (doesn't help that I am 5 hours away from both my paints and the minatures themselves at school  :? ) Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim

The real Bundeswehr wears Felcktarn under their armour, but that would of course look very stupid on a mini. How about some really dark olive drab with some decent horizontal stripes in black (merely visible). Another option would be some dark browns.
Far less active than I used to...

I was thinking about some sort of tan underneath; my first thought was desert camo but that's far too confusing.  lol

I am also debating black armor with flecktarn underneath; thoughts?

EDIT:  Going to try the flecktarn armor with black underneath; realize this is a bit of a bore as threads go, thanks for bearing with me.

Weren't those the colours the BW wore in early Afghanstan? Back when the armour was only available in the Woodland Flecktarn. I think I remember some Photos with that combination in the Loyal magazine (that's the Magazine of the German equivalent to the National Guard of the US).
