Umm, so, how will that be different from the other NKG (Never Kissed a Girl) attendees not of this board?   :D ;D

(comment to be taken tongue in cheek!)

As an aside, can anyone tell me what/when/where BLAM is?  On or off list is fine.

Can't help thinking we all need name badges with forum handles on them... although me and the boy slug will be chapped up apparently- so if you see a pair of handsome blokes in tweed it's us, come and say hello if you wish.

I think it's like the secret service, invites in private, once you join you can't leave, etc.  o_o

You're coming all the way from Kiwiland? That must be one hell of a bus fare.

Mrs cheetor and I are to fly to London for a single night in a few weeks.  Due to serendipitous convergence it turns out that I will be able to spend a few hours at my first Salute before I fly home that Saturday evening.  Hooray.

In between writing, editing and rewriting my shopping list I want to ask a couple of questions that Salute veterans might be able to help me with:

  • I am too late to pre-book a ticket.  Doors open at 10.  I can get there at any time before lunch but I would rather get in and out early.  Based on previous years am I likely to be queuing for very long?  Even worse, is there a real possibility that I may not be able to get in at all as I have to buy a ticket on the day?  This is obviously a potential deal breaker for me with a flight to catch and all that jazz.
  • Approximately how long will it take me to get from the event location to Heathrow airport?
  • Is there decent food available on the premises?
  • Should I start another thread for these questions or are they ok here?

I am looking forward to some retail therapy (the last of it for me for quite a while Im afraid.  Stupid recession) and seeing what all the fuss is about :)

I want to ask a couple of questions that Salute veterans might be able to help me with:

    • I am too late to pre-book a ticket.  No, don't think so, contact the warlords.

Based on previous years am I likely to be queuing for very long? usually not.

Even worse, is there a real possibility that I may not be able to get in at all as I have to buy a ticket on the day?  see answer to question one. ;)

Heathrow to Excel: an hour max I would have thought if that.

    Heathrow Airport
Take the Piccadilly Line to Green Park. Change to the Jubilee Line (eastbound) and at Canning Town change onto the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to Custom House for ExCeL.

hahahahahhahahahahh that's funny say it again.[b/]

If all else fails mate send me your list and Paypal me funds and I'll grab your stuff for you, but seriously, you'll be daft to miss it if you're in Londinium.

The irony is if you buy a pre booked Queue buster badge you will usually queue longer than those that just turn up on the day. Thats been the pattern for the last couple of years. ;) lol

You should be absolutely fine to turn up and pay on the day, its highly unlikely you will be refused admission. The hall its held in at Excel is massive,(probably too big, no atmosphere) and can hold far more people than usually attend.

There are a few fast food and sandwich retailers in the concourse. They are pretty expensive though... ::)

    SOME HELPFUL INFORMATION.

Thanks for the info CV :)

Barring something drastic I will be there.  If I dont make it then I wont be buying the stuff anyway (I want to see some of it in hand before I buy for a change, get my Sex in the City style retail therapy shopping vibe on), but thanks for your generous offer  :)

See some of you guys there!
