Fancied doing something quick and different so I dug out my LoTR Army of the Dead, (Deadmen of Dunharrow) and set to work.

(Mix of undercoated, base coated and first ink wash).

I was looking for paint scheme ideas, going for the movie look nothing else. Tested it out a little on my recent deepones. Basically, Grey undercoat, VJ London Grey highlight/drybrush with successive additions of GW Skull white. Faces bare hands and beards further highlighted white.

Then a thinned down Thraka Green GW wash, (or two)

Then a final highlight with VJ London Grey + more white.

Very please with them, very quick and easy, but very effective, will get the rest finished tonight finger's crossed then basing.

Looking good, but they really do need their basing to really set them off, being all grey and all

Just ordered some more resin bases from Fenris games so as soon as they get here I'll base, after I've finished the rest monkey boy!

They're great. Way better than GW's overused bright green scheme for ghosts. Well done!

Just because I say they need their basing doesn't mean I didn't read your post

Like I said, I'm looking forward to seeing them completed, even more so knowing you will be using Fenris bases

Nice stuff - afraid I went down the dayglo route but what else could I so with this!

Love the contrast of the white faces with the greys of the robes et al!

I do enjoy the amount of undead stuff out there, as well as the amount of things you can do with them, and what techniques you can use to paint them! I very much love the LOTR dunharrow undead, I must also admit, I do find the scooby-dooby-doo ghost to be characterful unto itself!

Cheers, ghost looks a little single coloured to be honest, I think the flash has taken the washes out?

Well here's some shots, just the bases to do when they arrive from Fenris Games, (hopefully, Tues):

The far left was a axe man, this was missing from the figure, (ebay lot) so raided the middle earth bits box and found part of an elven spear. A quick trim and pin and drill and et vola!

We fight!

Yeah sorry for the little hijack - couldn't resist! Although I think it must have been the lamp I was using that's washed away the greens as I don't use flash!

Anyway back on topic - they look very effective and creepy en masse!
