Great popcorn movie. Reminds me of old Saturday afternoon war movies.

I'd like a heap of aliens in 28mm please.

Yeah, its a war film, no question about it.  No love story, and very little distracting dialogue.  Kinda like the Black Hawk Down of sci-fi.

Sold! Shame it'll probably never make it to my local cinema, we still don't get True Grit until next week.

I was really hyped about the movie (I even started a thread here) but Sony, after announcing that the movie would be released next week, decided to postpone the release one month, here in Portugal!

...
Unfortunately, that's kinda usual.

Well, if you know that beforehand you can go in to it and have a great time! And hey, if the characters are paper thin then we can all the easier replace them in our miniatures reinventing of the action.

Eye candy! Pure and simple.

Just the way we like our war movies.

Might have to wait for DVD release rather than the cinema, but taken in context I'm sure it is great fun  :)

Saw it yesterday (due to some nice Russian guy doing something illegal) and it's great. Pure action from start to finish, with lots of "missions" that you can adapt for miniatures games. It's really Black Hawk Down With Aliens ;) I'm going to see in the cinema for sure (when it arrives in Portugal).

Don't ever trust any payed reviewer to ever give an honest, unbiased look into anything. ;)
