2 zombies and a body bag question *update : 3 zombies*
« on: March 23, 2011, 11:12:30 PM »
Since body bags are plastic (and due to some googling) I tought it would be a good idea to varnish the bags in gloss...
now I'm not so sure anymore.  :?
what say you all ?

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons,
for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Although they're synthetic they aren't actually shiny.

For a synthetic look I use Tamiya acrylic paint, it seems thicker and gives off the right texture and look, its also a matt finish.

Every time I see those figs, I think of Gumby.

Nah. That's 2 victims & a body bag.  lol

@Emphatz : I quit using Tamiya years ago because of the smell. Vallejo can be rather thick, too. Anyways I varnish my figs with gloss first and matt (or semi) afterwards. better protection when gaming. so the shine of paint itself isn't really a problem.

I work in a funerary home, and in Spain, the body bags are made of canvas, usually in black, dark green or dark blue colours ;) (With canvas handles too)

thanks.

the bases are real simple.
they're plasticard, I actually used old membership cards from a store, something similar to credit cards) of which I cut out circles with an olfa circular cutter to fit the base.
then I drew a line pattern (10mm tiles), cut the lines and deepened them with a sharp edged needle file.
khaki wash in the lines, painted the tiles white and then added the grey pattern with a flat brush (dabbing)

Blood's a little too fresh on 'The Tod' (Undead five; WAAAATOSSSSH!!), generally not bad but could do with a bit more shading and a highlight. Perfectly servicable for the table though.

Supervike: just get some vac formed plasticard sheets with pavement, metalplate, etc... and get cutting, easy as.

Hmm, I don't know what "the tod" refers to. I'm guessing it's the one without the body bag. I've done that on purpose since he's enjoying a nice chunk of fresh meat...  :P

The studio miniatures character set is based on characters from the american sit com: Scrubs.

The Todd:

Also for fresh blood try Tamiya Clear Red (TCR as known in the trade) better end results all round.
