Faber, this stuff is ace. I'd see it fit that models can fight on water, as your canals are a bit larger than I thought. Keep up the good job!

Not just arches, I meant arches at the waterfront:

(and to think I once lived in that appartementbuilding on the 3rd floor. not so big, but the view...*sigh*)

STAND-BY MODE: OFF.
After a looong stop we are back on our project!
First, I'd like to show you our new shopping result:

I found a model shop full of these beauty ship bits and decoration and wood ship parts. They costed an average of 50 cent so we bought a lot of them with 50 euro  :D

second I found in my parents' house a old box full of these warmaster imperial guys wich seem to be perfect as bas-relief (do not know if is right translation for the italian word "bassorilievo")

All this bits will be used as decoration on buildings and canals. For the moment we finished the first 60x60 panel and we started to work on the second.
To break the monotony of stone canal walls we decided to create a wood waywalker on island number 5. First we cut away a step on the upper part of the wall and glue on it with vynil glue the proper wood bits

second we start cutting 7cm long wood boards

then we sand them and simulated breaks and wood texture. We glued them on the step.

To add realism and reliance we drilled each board to put inside the little rivets I bought.

Hope you like it, even in such a WIP form.
Next step well be the creation of a support for this waywalker in the water. You'll see :)
Ah, I found the perfect (even if expensive) water effect: epossidic resin E-30 produced by prochima. I bouth 320g (15,40 €) of this to try it. We are carving a dedicated canal section for a first attempt. We would like to give the water a greenish/brown shade obtaining the deep effect. We need a special colour who can be added to epossidic resin to go on with the attempt so we have to wait  :'(
as always C&C welcome!

Faber

Oh man, the minute I saw all those bits of trim and figures, I knew this was going to be awesome.

Can't wait to see where you go next.
